Salt Lake's Newest Residents

Woo Hoo! Almost everything has been fixed in our new condo and the things that haven't been fixed are on schedule to be fixed. We start moving in on Monday. The new address is 877 E Cedar Pine Court #20, Salt Lake City, 84106.

New Condo At Last, Maybe...

We are officially moved out and living in Mama and Papa Bear's basement. We hope to be moving into our new place on Monday, but everything has not gone according to plan. The unit above ours had some trouble with the water heater and subsequently ours needs some major work before we can move in along with the repairs that Matt Basham found during his inspection. Lots of the repairs have been finished, but there is still plenty that needs to be done. We don't want to move into a place that still has work that needs to be done. We'll see what happens today. We are supposed to close at 2pm, but Angie(our realtor) is going to talk to the seller to see if everything is really going to be done on time. I guess we'll see...

Lot's of News

Okay, I've been slacking, I know. We went to Texas and watched James win the MCLA Division 2 Lacrosse Championship. Way to go Jumbo! We got home and had an amazing 6 showings of our condo in 1 week and one of the couples made an offer. There was the usually bargaining and now the place is officially under contract. Woo Hoo! We think that we have found a great place for us, too. It's in Cottonwood Heights and they are some appartment conversions that were just recently converted so they have been remodeled inside and out. We'll be going to look at them a little later today to choose one to make an offer on. Brian's branch opened and the grand opening is on June 9th. It will be so nice for us not to have to commute.

Just to explain Brian's fashion statement: He promised James last year that if he made it to the championship that he would shave a 6 in his chest and paint himself. James actually did the shaving and Summer and I did the painting.

My Turn

I am assuming that Chennell sent me the invitation to post on the blog on accounta she wanted me to post on this blog. Here goes!
My new office is almost ready to go. Construction is done, except for some touch up work. They delivered furniture on Wednesday. Everything made it safe and sound except for one piece...my desk! They got half of it there - the smaller piece they call a "return", but not the big part. I dropped by today and it is officially missing. They promised me a loaner until the one that was re-ordered arrives. I think it's kinda funny. Anywho, I will move in when we come back from Dallas.
I got some wild hairs, so I am trying out a couple of new sports to officiate. I am working little league baseball because Brian Tingey is the president of a league and offered me the chance. Two of my good friends, Randy and Al, work college baseball, so I had to give it a shot. I also started working lacrosse last week. I worked one game with a partner (he wasn't too good) and did the other one myself. Pretty dangerous if you ask me. I will freely admit that I am pretty much the worst ever at both, but they haven't fired me yet. We'll see how this goes!
Oh yeah, I spoke to our realtor tonight. She has an appointment to show our place tomorrow! She spoke to the other agents listing 2 bedroom places in our complex and they aren't getting any interest either. Hopefully the walk-throughs will pick up, because the place really will sell itself!

Yay James!

The Griffins won the RMLC Division Championship. Now we look forward to Texas. I am working at the call center on the Cottonwood Hospital campus. It's not real exciting, but I make more money doing this than the fun stuff like working in the ER. I have adopted a "I don't work for fun. I work so I can have more fun." policy. The hours go by fast enough so I'm good. Abby had a really fun birthday party on Sunday. It was great weather and we had a ball. Thanks Cindy and Mary for the work that went into it.

At James's last game he did very well...in the first quater. Then for pretty much the rest of the game he was on the side line to save his superior strength and ability for the playoffs. So I took this time to take some fun pictures of Scott and Mary with their grandkids.

Chennell and Summer's Roadtrip

This is exactly what I needed. We had a blast. The biggest thing we did was go to Zion National Park and hike the Angel's Landing which takes about 4 hours to do. It is catagorized as strenous and is 5 miles of mostly steep trail and at the end there is some serious climbing with 15oo foot drop offs on either side. We had so much fun.
